Cross Country Fun!

We had a lot of training for the Cross Country and we all got so fit. When the day came it was so exciting. We warmed up and the waited for"GO". We ran as fast as we could and even if we fell over we knew to get up and keep going. Sisley came second out of all the year one girls. She is speedy!

The parents cheers so loudly and we had such a great day. Thank you Mr King and all the parents who helped.

Fun Things From Room 11

Room 11 Fun Things in August

We had a turn to be the Green Team. It is lots of fun to pick up rubbish when you have tongs and Kevin the Kiwi to help.

 Also we had a chance to code a story with Scratch on the ipads. We had lots of fun!

Our Zoo Trip

Yesterday we went to the Zoo. We all went on the bus and we were so excited. First we had morning tea on the band rotunda. 

Next we had a lesson about different animal groups and coverings. We got to touch fur, feathers and scales.

Next we explored the zoo. We saw the cutest meerkats and they stood on their tip toes and looked all around. 

 

After that we saw some cotton top monkeys feeding on berries and dropping them on the 

animals below!

Finally we went to see the tiger but he was sleeping in his hose. We did get to see the cheetah also asleep on his platform.

We had such a great day but we were very tired by home time.

                            Our New Playground

At Victoria Avenue School we are so lucky to have a new playground. It has a tall tunnel slide and very tall ladders. It has a circle swing for four people. It also has a round about that is for four people to spin. We had a turn to try it out and look at all the fun we had!

                      One Hundred Days of School!

                                     Room 11 has been counting each school day. 

                                     Now we have been at school for 100 days. 

                                     We had a 100 Day Party Day on Monday 30th of July.

First we made 100 day hats, then we counted to 100 and hopped one hundred times. Next we made badges and delicious biscuits with hundreds and thousands on them. We had a great celebration. Now we start counting 200 days.

Yay Grandparents' Day

Last week it was Grandparents' Day. We were so lucky to have a Book Fair as well. So some kind Grandparents came to our class and took us to look at the books and buy some!

We showed our visitors our classroom and all our lovely stories and handwriting. It was a fun day.
